Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections (2nd entry)

The photo challenge from the Daily Post, was, quite some time ago, Reflections.

I snapped this one in Dubai with my Samsung Galaxy, quite recently, and thought it was a pretty nice reflection.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Surprise

This weeks WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is Surprise. It is not too often one get to capture the moment of surprise, unfortunately. However, some years ago, when we sat on the veranda of our family summer house in Lappland, northern Sweden, overlooking the lake, we got ourselves a surprise! There was a moose crossing the lake, and it is a big lake, so the moose got a good work out. The photo of the swimming moose is not very clear.

We also estimated the place of arrival, and welcomed the moose with some paparazzi photos. I guess the whole situation was quite surprising for everyone involved.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons

The theme of the week at the Daily Post is; Changing Seasons. This photo to me reflects the entrance of fall with all the leaf-less trees. Also, the water looks really cold in addition.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful

Thankful is this week’s photo challenge from the Daily Post. This young girl was trying to sell us some souvenirs while temple-hopping in Cambodia this summer. She was quite a sales woman, and of course, those eyes also helped her seal the deal with us. I just remember the situation so well, as we only bought a few things from her and paid 1 or 2 USD – but she expressed so much gratitude and thankfulness for this that I will always remember her.

Here are some of my previous contributions:

Weekly Photo Challenge: Green

This weeks photo challenge is GREEN. I took this photo in the Swiss Alps (the Braunwald Area), maybe the most relaxing and greenest place I have seen.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Renewal

This weeks photo challenge is Renewal. We saw this hawk/falcon (?) with it’s prey an afternoon back in Hong Kong. It sat there for a few hours, just staring out in to the air and guarding the smaller bird. Hopefully the little prey was brought back to a nest to feed some younger ones and secure a new generation of this beautiful predator.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Geometry

This weeks photo challenge is Geometry. My photo is from MACBA (Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art). It has been a while since I went, and what I remember clearly, except for all the skateboarders outside, is the actual architecture of the building, which carries a lot of geometry. Beautiful place.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

This weeks Photo Challenge from the Daily Post is: Foreign

Being from Scandinavia and doing business with any North East Asian company will certainly make you notice some cultural differences. One of the moments I remember was the first time visiting a customer in Imabari, Shikoku Island, Japan. Here I was asked to take off my shoes and wear the office slippers. I guess this may happen from time to time in Japan, but this, the first time, was just “interesting” to me.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

This weeks challenge from The Daily Post was Silhouette. This is from the beach on lovely Boracay Island, Philippines earlier this year. Such a nice place!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Happy

Of course there are various degrees of happiness, and I could have included several photos (in a gallery!) to show different levels of happy. But, after weeks of darkness, rain and wind – the typical fall weather in Norway – we woke up this loveley Saturday morning to see the first signs of the winter. Winter means we will get snow, meaning:

1. It will become less dark

2. It will become less wet (if it is a good winter)

So, for me, today, the first signs of the approaching winter makes me Happy! The photo shows the first “frost” or “rime” (not sure about the correct word to use) with an apple tree in the background, the apple tree still with some yummy apples..
